Research on Genre and Sub-Genre.

Genre
Genre is a category used to classify discourse and literary works, usually by form, technique or content. In films genres are usually horror, comedy and thriller etc.

Sub-Genre
A sub-genre is a section of a film which links to the specific genre. For example a horror movie has adopted categories such as physiological, supernatural and historical. A genre which is based on romance would have erotica and romantic comedy.

The sixth sense thriller opening

Physiological thrillers inspire me the most this is because it creates suspense and tension which is what most people like watching including me. This type of thriller gets the audience excited and leaves them in the dark which is why lots of people tend to carry on watching the film. This will influence my own film opening as it is helping us understand how people are affected physiologically and will also give us ideas on how to create a good, intriguing opening.
