The title sequence for Se7en follows the conventional title sequence as it goes through the two idents, then the two titles and then following the two major stars who are Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. After this the title Se7en appears followed by the other actors/tress' within the film.
The Orphan is another film which we took a lot of inspiration from as it is a psychological thriller and has very similar aspects. The film stars Vera Farmiga as Kate Coleman and Peter Sarsgaard as husband John who struggle to cope with the lose of their third child who was stillborn. Then the couple decide to adopt a young girl called Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman). Throughout the film Kate has a hunch that something maybe wrong with Esther as she seriously injured another girl. Also, her suspicion deepens when the couple find out from Sister Abigail (head of the orphanage) warning them that bad things seem to happen when Esther is around. I think one key element from The Orphan that we will interpret is that we'll have a young girl as the main character of the film to resemble innocence and deception.
After going back and watching the rough cut again, we decided to do extra filming to make our opening more engaging. Shireen, Larah and Amina did extra filming to get extreme close-ups of the props. Yet again, Quddus wasn't in to film with us! Below are just some pictures we took of the props we are filming. The reason why we did extra filming was because we received feedback saying we should do some of the shots as extreme close-ups to draw in the audience.

The film se7en does follow some of the conventions of a title sequence. The reason why I have said this is because towards the middle of the title sequence for this film they have included another two actors and have put the credit for 'music' before 'costume'. This shows that not every film opening follow the order of what the conventions of a title sequence are suppose to be in.
The conventions of this title sequence has inspired us to create superimposed credits for our film opening, this is so it symbolises the unstable emotional state of the characters. The reason for this is because in a lot of physiological films they have their credits in a spooky type of font this is so it can relate to the genre and attract the audience.
After watching back the rough cut of our thriller film, I was really pleased with how most of it turned out; for example the framing, quality, etc. I like how we purposely made the camera look shaky in places to hint to the viewers that she is disturbed. To improve the film (as this was only rough cut), we could create a stronger ending that would make a more dramatic suspense by re-arranging our shots. I think putting the close-up shot of my face will create more of an impact and really engage the audience. I also think that we should go filming again to get extreme close-ups of certain props we used in the film so that the audience will be drawn to what is being shown. Although overall, I think we have done a pretty good job, especially in comparison to the prelim video and Reservoir Dogs remake. We just need to fix up the sound, shot orders, close-ups, title fonts and title sequence.
